About Us

Sarah

As a mother of five, with two decades of parenting, in-home childcare, and nannying experience, my lifelong love of nature, wildlife and the outdoors shapes the way I care for and teach children today. At Nature’s Children, I provide a nurturing and engaging environment where children feel safe, curious, and free to explore. My program emphasizes independent play, creativity, and discovery, thoughtfully designed around Montessori and Reggio Emilia principles. Children thrive in spaces that encourage problem-solving and exploration, with guidance when needed. Every day at Nature's Children is an opportunity for us to connect with the natural world, engage in hands-on projects, and experience joyful learning. Activities include nature walks, visits to the Arboretum, trips to the library, Millbrook Marsh adventures, and other enriching experiences that support child development—socially, emotionally, and academically. Caring for children in a way that fosters growth, curiosity, and joy has always been my calling. Families appreciate my punctuality, reliability, and open, thorough communication. At Nature’s Children, we’re not just a childcare program—we’re a community where children can explore, learn, and develop a lifelong love of discovery, guided by nature, creativity, and thoughtful care.

Bridget

Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, Bridget’s own foray into education began in a homeschool Montessori classroom with her brother and sister, goats, chickens, rabbits, cats, dogs and various other wildlife. Her niece and nephew inspired her to earn her AMI elementary certification and M. Ed in Montessori Elementary education. Over the decade of her teaching career, Bridget taught in private, public, and public charter schools. She began her career teaching first through third grade in Milwaukee Public Schools, where she served on the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Committee, and Behavior Intervention Team. As the Inclusion Facilitator at Stonebrook Montessori School, Bridget was thrilled to receive Orton-Gillingham training, a multisensory system for teaching reading for kindergarten through third grade. She was a substitute teacher where she cared for infants and toddlers, and taught preschool through 6th grade. She taught fifth grade math, and served as the school librarian and a kindergarten assistant at the Lippmann School. More than anything on earth, she treasures her time with her nieces and nephew. Her ideal weekend is spent outside with her family and all of the dogs.
